Weekend Away: Friday 3rd to Sunday 5th November 2017 at Whitemoor Lakes
Exciting for children, perfect for families, welcoming for everybody – our weekends away have been a fabulous way to cement friendships, build new ones and have a weekend that’s a real break as well as loads of fun.
This year we’re going to a new venue close to Lichfield, similar to the Pioneer Centre where we went before, but a bit more modern.
What will it be like? It will be a great mix – outdoor activities for adventurous types of all ages, indoor crafts and activities for the less physically energetic. There’ll be a trip to the National Memorial Arboretum led by our very own Colonel Dominque Cairns! And all sorts of other things, such as an organised walk, as well as opportunities to worship, reflect and pray. Nor can we forget the Vicar’s challenge – always an eye-opener!
It’s a time to do what you feel like doing – as much or as little as you want, nothing is mandatory!
Talk to Bill Humphreys to book your places now! (His email is below)
Would you like to be part of the planning team?
It’s been more than four years since the last one, so we’re full of ideas to make this weekend the best ever! If you’d like to join the team, please talk to Bill – we’ll be meeting up in the next few weeks to share ideas and work out who does what. Talk to Bill too (or Patrick or Avril) if you’d like to know more about what’s involved before you jump in!
If you want to catch a flavour of what a church weekend away is like look at the photos on our webpages:
During Lent our prayers will include a question, a reflection, and then a prayer. They are designed to encourage us all to count our blessings:
